SUBJECTS OFFERED

SAT/ACT Prep

With 8+ years of SAT/ACT tutoring experience, I provide sessions of 1+ hours to get your student to their goal score through practice problems, test-taking strategies, SAT/ACT tips and tricks, and more. I am experienced in tutoring both the Math and Reading/Writing sections. I can also help your student decide which test is right for them!

Math

With 10+ years of experience teaching and tutoring various math subjects, including K-8 Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, I can help raise your child’s grades, test scores, and confidence in math class. Session pricing is dependent on math class level of difficulty.

Science

With a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a Master’s in Public Health, I have confidently guided many students through their challenges with K-8 Science, Biology, and Chemistry to help them achieve greater understanding of science and improved grades. Price depends on science class level of difficulty.

PSAT Prep

The PSAT takes place in the Fall of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. The PSAT can help your child prepare for the SAT and qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program if they score within a certain range. I have been helping students prepare for the PSAT for 5+ years and have had several become National Merit Scholars.

College Prep/ Applications

The college application cycle can take a lot of planning and guidance. I have helped 50+ students as they prepare to apply to their dream schools and programs. With a strong understanding of what college admissions boards are seeking in student applicants, I can help your student prepare a strong application and essays.

HSPT/ ISEE

The High School Placement test (HSPT) and Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) are admission tests for middle and/or high school, present in some competitive school districts. I have 6+ years of experience tutoring for these exams and have helped many students gain admission to great schools.

What’s included beyond tutoring:

  • After each session, you will receive an in-depth session report email that discusses your student’s strengths, challenge areas, and what they learned in the session.

  • I offer a free monthly phone call with parents to discuss your student’s progress with you. This provides you the space to ask any questions in more detail than emails can provide.

  • After each practice test or assessment, I will analyze your student’s scores and recognizable patterns and provide a detailed written and verbal analysis of my findings both in session with the student and by email for parents.

  • Every other month, I provide a free proctored exam date for SAT/ACT on a Saturday morning for my students to sign up for. They will be given a practice test and scantron ahead of time. They would log onto a Zoom call with other students who are also signed up to take the proctored exam that day. This mimics the real test day as closely as possible.

  • I have ongoing promotions for discounts if you refer a new family or student to me!

How I’ll help your student succeed

In our first session, I sit down with my new student over Zoom and take the opportunity to get to know each other. Then, depending on their tutoring subject (e.g. SAT, Algebra, Biology), we’ll discuss their current or past experience with that subject. This might include grades and level of understanding if it’s an academic subject or past practice tests if it’s test prep. We’ll discuss their goals and develop a timeline for practice tests and homework that make it possible to reach their grade or score goals.

I recommend weekly tutoring for all students as a baseline, but depending on necessity, I will sometimes recommend increasing the frequency of tutoring. I start each session by answering any pressing questions on students’ minds as it relates to tutoring.

Some academic students like to bring their own homework or study guides to sessions, which we’ll go over together. However, I will always have content prepared to practice if a student comes to the session with nothing. For test prep students, based on previous practice test score reports, we will spend each session covering 2-4 topics that the student did poorly with on the practice test, leaving time for review at the end.
